There are so many methods of hair removal, so many different places where you might want hair removed, and so many other variables - we’re going to dive right in: Razors
Razors are the most tried-and-true hair removal solution. The pros? You can use a razor anywhere, as long as you’re careful. Want to ensure a smooth shave every time? Follow these shaving tips. The disadvantage to this method is obvious; you have to keep shaving for the rest of your life. Other hair removal options may reduce hair growth for lengthy periods of time, which means you’ll have to shave that much less. Waxing Waxing is quite effective at removing hair from a number of places: your bikini line, your legs, your mustache, and even your eyebrows. Of course, this efficacy comes at a cost - waxing is not the most pleasant experience, and some people with particularly sensitive skin may find that it’s more trouble than it’s worth. Once you’ve waxed, you can see results that last for upwards of a month at a time, depending on the rate your hair normally grows and the area you’ve waxed. Depilatory Creams You’ll most often see these marketed as “hair removal” creams, because that’s what they’re designed to do. These creams are best used before a shower (because you’ll need to wash all the cream off). They’re particularly effective on certain regions: namely, the forearms and legs. Why? Simply put, these creams aren’t as effective at removing coarse or thick hairs, which are less commonly found on your forearms and legs. A word of caution here for those with sensitive skin: these creams can cause a reaction - they’re pretty intense. Apply a very small amount on part of your skin to begin with; if it gets itchy or otherwise irritated, the cream may not be right for you. Tweezers There’s a place for widespread hair removal, and there’s a place for spot removal. Whether it’s to shape your eyebrows or remove nose hairs, tweezers are your friend. You can be incredibly precise with how you use them. The disadvantage to tweezers is obvious; you can’t use them for widespread hair removal. Use one of the other options presented here instead! Laser Hair Removal Laser hair removal is the most permanent solution out of all the ones listed here. It can last for years; for some people, it does permanently remove the hair. Like any of the other hair removal options, there are advantages and disadvantages. The advantages of laser hair removal is that it can be used more or less anywhere on the body, and that it’s incredibly long-lasting. The disadvantages are that it’s more expensive than other methods of hair removal, but the results are immediate following your first treatment; as you will notice a reduction in hair growth of 10%, with increased results after several appointments. That said, you might end up saving a lot of money on waxing, razors, and other hair removal techniques. For laser hair removal services in Winnipeg, get in touch with us! Comments are closed.
